I'm a growing software engineer and computer science student at Claflin University, where I'm an Honors Scholar with a 3.89 GPA. I've spent two summers as a Software Engineering Intern at Meta, most recently on Monetization & AI-Enhanced Ads and previously through Meta University, where I architected a full-stack recommendation app from scratch. I care about writing code that's easy to reason about and easy to change, and I like projects that sit at the intersection of engineering rigor and real-world impact. In Progress · Aug. 2026 – PresentSenior thesis project: an AI study companion that recommends compatible study partners through a hybrid recommender over course data, stated preferences, behavioral signals, and schedule availability. Uses embeddings, similarity metrics, and constraint-aware scheduling to rank candidate matches, evaluated on precision, recall, and F1 against a profile-based baseline. Also adds Q&A, plain-language topic explanation, and study planning with reminders.

June 2025 – August 2025Full-stack capstone app built during Meta University: recommends personalized recipes from pantry contents, ingredient freshness, and user behavior to reduce food waste. Includes drag-and-drop meal scheduling, automatic grocery lists, timezone-aware expiration alerts, and adaptive recommendation/substitution algorithms. Reduced recommendation latency by 18% and improved recommendation accuracy by 24%.

Beyond the Code
Outside of engineering, I'm a big sports fan, soccer especially. I play regularly, not just watch, and I love the same things on the pitch that I love in engineering: reading the game, working with a team, and getting better through reps.
